Celebrating 19 Years of Excellence

The Amherst Soccer Club is hosting its 19th  Annual Memorial Day Classic Soccer Tournament at Souhegan High School on May 28^th through 30^st.  Last year was our biggest year yet with 263 teams and this year promises over 250 teams (many from out of state) and 18,000 patrons to the area during the three-day weekend. We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to advertise your business and help support our event.  If you were a Level 1 ($100) or Level 2 ($50) sponsor last year, take a look at our website to see your logo on our website just as they appear to the soccer coaches, team and parents (http://www.amherstsoccerclub.com/tournament.html).    

Each year the tournament committee puts together a Tournament Program for players, parents and coaches. The program includes the attending list of teams, schedules, field maps and local business coupons and advertisements. Throughout the weekend, local and visiting teams refer to this guide for their informational and resource needs.  This program is electronically sent out and includes an area map with sponsor locations on it.

There are a variety of ways for your business to get involved such as:

§         Advertising through the official Tournament Program

§         Displaying a corporate banner on the fields

§         Providing a link to your company web site for teams to visit directly

§         Providing a coupon for your company

§         Making a charitable donation to the organization

§         Contributing goods and/or services to the event

Memorial Day Tournament volunteer

Night at the Revolution - Saturday, May 14

BU11 Team:

If families are interested, we have an opportunity to play a game on the Gillette stadium field.  I think this would be a great experience and a lot of fun for the boys!

NH Soccer Association and the Revolution are sponsoring a Night at the Revolution.  The kids get to play a game on Gillete stadium field and then after watch the Revolution play a game.  To get a spot we need to commit to 30 tickets as a team.  The tickets are $25 ($10 discount).  See the attached flyer for details.

Right now they have spots left for GU12, BU11, BU12, U8 coed teams.  If people are interested we need to act quickly to secure a spot.

Re: ASC Spring 2011 Sign-Ups & Info - SPRING DUES REMINDER

Just a quick reminder that the due date for Spring Dues was February 28.  The report from the club is that 10 players have submitted their dues, which leaves most of team dues outstanding.

I know it has been tough to think about soccer with the snow and cold weather, but our first games will be here in 2 1/2 weeks.  Thank you to everyone who has paid.  If you have not paid yet, please see the directions below and submit any questions you have to "Lisa Davidson" <4davidsons99@comcast.net>.

FUTSAL comes to Amherst in April - register now!

JOIN US FOR FUTSAL – It's Fun and Builds Soccer Skills

Amherst Soccer Club and the Amherst Recreation Department want to introduce you to FUTSAL.  Come and train with the Souhegan High School boys soccer coaches to learn how FUTSAL can help:

·        Increase speed of play
·        Improve control and touch on the ball
·        Enable individual creativity with the ball

WHAT:  Introduction to FUTSAL -  a creative twist to soccer.   FUTSAL is an extremely fast paced game played on a basketball like court with a ball that has less bounce than a traditional soccer ball; this allows for close ball control and promotes creativity and the development of great individual foot skills. Soccer greats such as Pele, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Zidane grew up playing FUTSAL and attribute it with the development of their amazing skills.

WHEN:          Four Saturday mornings – April 2, 9, 16, and 23.

WHO:            Any players (not just ASC) so bring a friend, from any town (not just Amherst)

9-10 AM for ages 6 to 8 years

10-11 AM for ages 9 to 13 years

WHERE:        Souhegan High School in Amherst

COST:             $30

OTHER:         Register at www.amherstrec.org (registration will be open by Sat AM March 26^th and will close by March 31, or when full)

                        Wear indoor soccer shoes or other sneakers (no cleats) and shin guards are recommended

ASC indoor training until April 15

Team:

The season will soon be upon us.  A few people have asked about getting some extra training time.  If you have not been part of the winter indoor training and would like to get some extra training time in before the season starts you can join the Winter indoor training sessions which run until April 15.

Any person who would like to join indoor training at this point, the cost would be $100 for the remaining sessions.  Please contact Lisa Davidson (4davidsons99@comcast.net) to arrange payment.

Practice is Thursday nights from 6:00-8:00 at the NH Sportsplex, Bedford, NH.

ASC Uniform Orders - Deadline is 3/28

Hello ASC Players and Parents,

Attached please find an order form for those in need of a new uniform or replacement items (such as socks, shorts, etc).  Remember kids grow a lot at this age and what fit fine in the Fall may be too small this Spring.  Have your kids try on their uniforms to make sure they still fit!

For those new to the club, a player number will be assign to you by the club registrar once you place the order.  The uniform package includes shorts, red home jersey, white away jersey and socks.  At this time, we will not be taking orders for alternative gear such as sweatshirts, jackets, hats, etc.  This will be done at a later date.

The uniform coordinator, Missy Larson, will be taking orders through 3/28 so that we will have enough time to get the orders in before games start which is the weekend of 4/16.

Welcome to the ASC Spring 2011 season

Hello ASC Players and Families!

Practice Schedule

It is hard to believe but spring is just around the corner.  The practice schedule has been set for the club.  Please see below for days and locations.  We are at the mercy of mother nature and the town on when the teams can start training outdoors.  Teams will continue to train indoors and we will let you know once the fields are opened. 

Game Schedules

Upper Club teams U10-U16 will be participating in the Granite State Soccer League.  The website for the league is www.granitestatesoccer.com.  Here you will find schedules, directions, standings, etc.  Game schedules are not yet posted.  More information on games wil be sent once available.  All homes games will be played at Cemetery Fields in Amherst.  Games may be played on Saturday, Sunday or both days on any given weekend.

EDP Schedule

EDP is scheduled to start on 4/25, again pending fields being open.  More information will be sent on the schedule for EDP.

Uniforms

For those of you needing uniforms, a separate email with information will be sent out shortly.

Club Tournament

Please remember that the club hosts it 19th Annual Memorial Day Tournament over the holiday weekend and all teams will participate in the tournament.  This is our clubs only fundraiser and each player is asked to volunteer 6-8 hours during the weekend to help make it successful.  Proceeds from the tournament help to offset dues.  This is a very fun and exciting weekend.  More information to follow.
